The Club was favored with beautiful weather on the occasion of their meeting on Saturday last. The attendance was fairly good, and the sport, in some instances, notably in the Lancaster Park Harness Trot, wan above the average. .There waa, of course, the inevitable protest, but it did not occupy the attention of the Stewards for above a minute or two, being promptly dismissed. The officials did their work in their usual systematic manner, and Messrs Hobbs and Goodwin passed £1264 through their totalis—tors. The following are the results:— Maiden Trot (in saddle), of 20 bovb ; second horse to receive 5 soys out of the stakes. For horses that have never won any public money. Weight not less than lOst. catching her rapidly, with Betsy going well Yankee Tom waa breaking, and Tandy soon went to the front, a position which he held for two rounds, when Betsy headed him, and going on won, with comparative ease, by eight or ten lengths. xankee Tom came again and finished second, Tandy being eased off a bit towards the finish. This race resolved itself into a match between Urilla aud Cobweb, with King Billy following them for four rounds, and after the second round Urilla had the best of it, winning easily by forty yards. Shela passing a lot of pulling up ones was a bad third. Time, 6mm s_sec Totalisator— 158—16— £8 17s 6d. A protest was entered against the winner on the ground that she had run at Heathcote under another name. The protest was dismissed. The winner was bought in for £1110=i.

Bantam was in front first time passing the stand, but was Boon supplanted by Dick, who led for the next two circuits, when Yankee Tom came to the fore and never gave his backers any uneasiness, winning comfortably by five lengths, Bantam an indifferent third. (Owner) 0 Blossom, with her 20sec start, made the best of the good-going track, though she hardly seemed to settle down to her work at first. Lioness left Dexter and went in Eursult of the leader, but Tarn O'Shanter gured conspicuously in the rear throughout. Lioness caught Blossom at about a mile and a half, and appeared to be coming away, but Blossom sticking gamely to her work, there was never much daylight between the pair. Iv the last two rounds Blossom's driver tried his best to pass his opponent, and the chestnut appeared to tire a bit, but she had enough left in her to struggle home first by half a length, after the best race yet seen on the Park track. Blossom broke close to home. Time, 9min 21* sec Totalisator—293—94— £2 165.
