INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the Committee was held at the Corn Exchange last night. Present —Messrs G. T. Booth (President), Kirk, Buchanan, Berg, Waller, Glanville, and Adams. Mr Forrest, of Sydenham, wrote, asking that a higher rate of duty he paid on cardboard boxes. It was decided to send a copy of tho letter to the Government. The Agricultural and Pastoral Association wrote, having adopted suggestions of the Industrial Association regarding tbe classification of pottery. Mr F. Crooks, ot Sydney, wrote concerning the freetrade conference at Sydney, and enclosing newspaper reports of the meeting. The Committee thanked _lr Crooks for his communications.
The decisions arrived at the freetrade conference were read, and the President was :instructed to confer with the member for Christchurch South aud other members with the view of having a motion brought forward for the establishment of a reciprocal policy between the colonies. The Committee then proceeded with the revision of the rules of the Association, aud of terwards adjourned.
