Fiery Cross Extended —It i 3 understood that negotiations are in progress with the Hopeful Extended Company lor either amalgamation or securing certain rights and privileges. The real nature of the proposals have not yet been made known, but it is generally believed that an axi-angement mutually satisfactory will be made.
Big River Extended —I cannot hear that any news has been received from the mine manager, but there has been some business done in these shares to-day at 10s 6d.
Inglewood Extended—lt is expected that crushing will be started at the end of the present month. Progress—These shares are in good request for 21s Gd. Welcome! —I hear that the ea3l is coming in fairly well, and there seems to be still strong faith held in the future of the mine.
The heavy winter frosts have now set in, and the surface of the country all about is frozen over, and will prevent surface prospecting for a time.
