; 1 » "■■■■■ It will be in the recollection of our readers that at the opening of the session of the Synod of this diocese held in October last, the Bishop, in his address, stated that he took this opportunity of informing the Synod that it was bis intention to resign his office at the end of the year 1888, and that he proposed convening the Synod for the next session so soon as convenient after Easter that steps might be taken for the appointment of his successor. On a subsequent date the. Gresson, Chancellor of the Diocese,. .Messrs Maude, Harman, HarI greaves, Malet and Cook, for carrying oat ■ the purposes expressed in the resolutions, and has requested them to forward their report containing the necessary returns, with their recommendations for the disposal of the revenues of the Bishopric Estate, on or before the Ist day of -day, 1888, in order that in accordance with the request of the Diocesan Synod, a copy of such report may be forwarded to each member of Synod-one month at least before the meeting of the Synod.
