[recter's telegrams.] Received October 9th, 11 a.m. London, October 8. A meeting of the London Committee of the Melbourne Exhibition was held yesterday, at which the President and Treasurer of the Manchester Chamber were present. It was stated, on behalf of the Committee, that they had secured a generous allotment of space for exhibits from Manchester, which would consequently be kept together. The delegates from the Manchester Chamber expressed themselves satisfied with the arrangements made. J SPECIAL TO PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Received October 9th, 5.25 p.m. London, October 7. The statement that Sir P. C. Owen would represent England at the Melbourne Exhibition is denied. The liew Zealand Antimony Company has been floated privately. The syndicate that purchased the Blue Spur Mining claim, Otago, intend to offer a portion of the amount to the public. Received October Mth, 1.20 ajn. _ Losdon, October 9."" Intending exhibitors from Manches ter, Berlin, and Belgium have requested an extension of the date fixed for appling for space for the Melbourne Exhibition. They suggest the end of November, and the London Committee advise that the middle of December should be the date fixed for closing applications. Sir A. Blyth will, on October 24th, replace Mr Adye Douglas as AgentGeneral for Tasmania. Received October 10th. IJO a.m. London, October 9. It is reported that the Imperial Government intend to concede responsible Government to Western Australia.
