In the Commons this afternoon Mr Smith, First Lord of the Treasury, announced that Queen Victoria would attend a jubilee service at Westminster Abbey on the 21st June, which day would be proclaimed a general holiday. Sir Michael Hicks Beach, replying to a question, stated that the letter of Archbishop Croke, urging the Irish people to pay no taxes, has been engaging the attention of the Government.
