ABYSSINIAN REBELLION
ATTACK ON MASSOWAH. [becteb’s tslegramb.J Baoeived January 26th, 10.5 pm, Aden, January 23 A body of Abyssiniane, under the rebel chief Raeolouls, have attacked the ♦own of Massowah. Ia the coßfliet five Italians and 260 Abyssinians were killed. Received January 27th, 1 a.m. Rome, January 25. In const qutnee of the Abyssinian attack on the Italian settlement of Massowah, large reinforcements will be sent to the garrison of that place. Two corvettes will shortly sail for Massowah, [Massowah is a tolerably well-known tear port on an island in the Bed tea, and is the outlet of the Abyssinian trade in ivory, musk, wax, and coffee. Its population is about 6000. On the Bth February, I*3l, the Italian flag was hoisted with that of Egypt at Massowah.]
