SENIOR CUP MATCHES. • - MIDLAND V ADDINGTON. This match was continued on Saturday on the Addington ground, and resulted in an easy win for the senior Club by 285* runs. The rain that fell on Friday made the wicket somewhat soft and greatly helped the bowlers. The Midlanders having compiled 254 for five wickets, resumed their innings, and Barnes and Garrard, the not-outa of the previous week, took their places at the wickets again, against the bowling of {Halley and McMurray. Barnes only added 5 singles to his previens score of 77 when he was given out leg before wicket to Halley, a decision which did not particularly please that batsman. The Midland Captain had played a really splendid innings for 81, and during his long stay at the wickets he never gave a chance. Raynor joined Garrard, and 6 runs had only been added to the score when the latter batsman was caught by Slater off Halley with 17 to his credit. Barge was bowled by Halley, and Garty and Rayner brought the score to 289, when Garty was run out. Rayner carried out his bat for a well played 17. Lawrence, the eleventh man, did not bat, and the innings closed for the very good total of 289. The Addington men, notwithstanding the large amount of leather hunting they had to do, fielded splendidly. The Junior Club in their second attempt fared very badly, for they lost four wickets for 8 runs, and the innings cloaed for 77, of which Slater 23, Turner (sub.) not out 18, and Atkinson (9ub.) 14, and Ashby 10, were the principal contributors. The Addingtonians seem to be somewhat ' severely handicapped by several of their men never turning up to complete their second innings, and in this match there were no less than three delinquents. The Midland captain permitted three substitutes to bat for them, but although the result of the match was a foregone conclusion, it does not tend to improve the game of cricket by the infringement of its rulee. Appended are the scores : MIDLASD C.C.

U.C.C.C. V LP.C.C. This match was concluded on Saturday and resulted in a rather easy win for the Lancastrians by eight wickets. The U.C.C.C. with two wickets dowfl fv , (and still being 21 to the bad), coiCtuiued I their second innings,E.J.Cotteriml[s6^. 1 and R. D. Harman, the not outs oSH&#< Saturday, facing the bowling of Wpling' and Cuff. After 14 runß had been/lcoted, E. J..Cotterill played a simple one sack to the bowler 4 tuns later. R. D. Harman and Tate were bowled and then a regular panic took place, no stand being made to the bowl ng of Cuff until T. D. Harman came m, but at 135 the last man, Pilbrow, was bowled, Luff having secured six wickets for 17 runs. T. D. Harman played a capital innings for 16, not out. The ; L.P.C.C. then went in for their second innings to wipe off the small score against, them. This they did with the loss of two wickets. Crawsnaw again played a good, not-out innings of 15. The wicket, owing, to the rain, was a sticky one, and the . bowlers had it their own way. This puts’ the U.C.C.C. and the A.C.C. out of the Cnp, and the final between the L.P.C.C, and the M.CC.C. will commence at Hagley> Park on next Satu day. /; First Innings ... * 127
