It was rumoured that Mr Dibbs was about to resign the appointment of Colonial Treasurer, owiog to a disagreement with Sir Patrick Jennioga, Premier. Received December 28th, I.l* p.m. THE LATE FIRE. Adelaide, December 28. One of the firemen engaged at the fire at Rundle etreet on Thursday, who has since been missing, is now kaown to have perished in the flames. Another fireman died from injuries received en the same occasion. The total loss by Are at Rundle street is now stated to have been £60,000. TEETULPA. Mr Mntray, the Victorian geologist, visited the Teetulpa goldfielde, and has given a favorable report as to their value and permanency. Returns from Teetulpa continue satisfactory. Eeceived December 28th, 10.15 p.m. THE PREUSSEN. Melbourne, December 28. The passengers on board the German Lloyd steamer Preussen, which arrived this morning, have been placed in quarantine, one of the crew having developed dangerous symptoms, which have all the appearance ef smallpox. Received December 28th. 10.15 p.m. Passengers by the German Lloyds steamer Prouasion have been quarantined for twenty-one days. No froth cases of smallpox have been reported.
