WAITEMATA ELECTION.
■♦ [PB—BB ASSOCIATION TSLSeSAK.] AUCKLAND, December 20 The declaration of the poll at the Waitemata election took place to-dsy. There was a majority of 435 for' Monk over FarnaO. Mr Dnke made a protest against the-tetundng-Officer, Mr Seaman, declaring the election valid on various grounds, among others, that the names of a number of Natives were received on the supplementary roll after the issue of writ, and a number of names were wrongfully removed from the roll. The Bet-rning-OfScer declined to recognise the protest, Mr Duka not being an elector of Waitemate. Mr Farnall then appended his name to Mr Dake'a statement. The objected that the protest was signed in penciL Mr Farnall asserted it waa in ink. The B 'turning-Officer said he would receive ti_s protest as from Mr Farnall, although he had good reasons for declining.
