KAIAPOI FIFLE CLUB.
The annual meeting vu held on Wednesday in tbe Kaiapoi Municipal Chamber. There was a large attendance. Mr K. Moore (President) occupied tie ohai>. The Chairman congratulate ihe Club on its past ctreer and its future prospeots. Daring last year the new xsngo had been obtained and tarnished at a considerable coat, and he contended that an association should be formed to give all who oould nee the rifle an opportunity to oompeto, »nd hoped a motion would be made chat, evening in that direction; Ho referred to the proposal to establish »Ikflo Association, and promised to give the moveinea* his cordial support. The balance sheet ehowed the receipts to have been .£65 10a 4d, the expenditure £61 8s sd, balance in cash £1 Hβ lid, assets £36 13s lid, and after deducting liabilities the balance in favor of the Club wan £26 17* »i. Mr J. Simpson (obtain) reported the rtßult of the various m&tohea, and that trophies had been Riven by VtcePreeidrot Wilson. Messrs Q. H. Wearing, C. B. Eioharde, and F. B. Parker. The statement of accounts and Che reports were adopted. The offioere elected'", were Mr G. H. Wearing, Patron $ Mr B.Mocre, President) Mesera \V. Fraserand J. Lowthian W&son, Vice-Presidents j %lx W. Hurse, Captain; Mr P. B. Parker, Lieutenant j K. Wright, Secretary and Treasurer; W. Hollier, Custodian; C. Wright, Marshall; W. Campbell, A. Johneon, H. Jjardon. N. Kidd, and G. Templeton, Managing Committee. Votes of thanks were passed to the donors of special prieea, and in reference to Air Parker's pr«o*> of q> rifio it was agreed that tbu competition be open to all members. It was resolved thai the members be placed in nVst and second classes, inetead ot following ,the ejetom of, handicapping. The Piendunt, Mr Fraeer, and Mr Campbell eaoh ottered special prizes. The question of forming an Abbociation was deferred. Votes of tf.-anks to the retiring offioera concluded the meeting. ' . ~
