i Failing to Pbovidh.—Police v Charles Bannaby, an adjourned case of failing to provide for his two children, now in St. Mary's Catholic School, Nelson. Defendant, who was £2912e in arrests, wae ordered to pay £10 forthwith, failing which he would be imprisoned for one month.
A Btbat Cow. — Borough Banger v Hedgman for allowing a cow to be at large ia a public thoroughfare; fined 5s and cost?. Affiliation Cash. — Margaret Jane Green v Daniel Kiley. Mr Joyce appeared for plaintiff, Mr Nalder for the defendant. After a mass of evidence was adduced for the plaintiff, Mr Nalder applied for a non-suit on the ground that plaint ; ff failed to produce corroborative evidenoe to prove the case. Hie Worship said it was unnecessary to call evidenoe for. the defence, as he was perfectly eattefied that the plaintiffs case could not be established. The case would, therefore, be diemiseed. Civn. Cask.—Luffaro and Sana v Sergentine, claim JBIO 10j for damage to property and consequences. Mr Nalder for plaintiff; Mr Kerr (or defendant Mr de Montalk, interpreter. The evidence went to show that the plaintiff and defendant were Italian fishermen; that on the 7th September both parties went to fiah at the head of Governor's Bay; that the plaintiff cast his nets first, and some little time afterwards the defendant cast his , net over tiie plaintiff's, thereby damaging his nets and causing the plaintiff considerable lose. Hie Worship gavo judgment for plaintiff for Xβ 10s, and oosts.
