TUXSDAT, SXPTEMBER 14.
[Before C. Whitefoord, Eta,., E.M., E. L. Higgins, A. H. Cunningham, H. Blackett, and H. Boyd, _6qs.] Alleged Assault.—T. Prowse charged E. Tollett with an assault on hia son, a boy of fourteen. Mr -packman appeared for plaintiff. It was alleged that deceased boxed the boy'B ears. In defence, the defendant said he did so becaueo the boy had assaulted a little girl—a relative—by lifting her clothes and striking her with a gorae branch. The Bench considered the assault a trumpery one, on by the bad behaviour ot Prowse, Jan., and dismissed the case.
Civil Casks.—A. Parsons v T. Dench, .£22 15s, set off .£3l 3s; Mr Gresson for plaintiff, Mr Spick man for defendant. It appeared that the set off was due in respect, of a very old claim of over —100 due by defendant, and tbe Bench gave judgment for the. amount claimed, with costs. Mrs Wytoherly v A. McLean, .£l6 3a; Mr Helmore for plaintiff ; judgment for 'amount, and costs.
