THE MATOH AGAINST SOUTH OF ENGLAND.
i—SUT—a's T_—IQB—kT.J London, September 10. Tbe cricket matoh, Australians v South of England, was resumed at Brighton to-day. The attendance was moderate, heavy rain falling at intervals. The wicket was heavy in consequenoe. The visitors, who yesterday lost nine wickets for 208, only increased their score to 219 before the last wicket fell At the close of the day's play the South of England had lost four wickets for 90. London, September 11 The match was continued to-day, tbe weather being splendid, and the attendance on the ground good. The wicket still, however, was heavy. The Home team resumed their innings, but failed te make an effective stand, and the innings closed for 136 runs. Being in a minority of 83, the Englishmen had to follow on, and were muoh more successful than in the preceding innings. When stumps were drawn they had compiled 245 runs for the loss of si* wickets. The matoh, therefore, was drawn. W. W. Bead was the principal scorer, playing a splendid innings for 102 not out.
