WELLINGTON, July 14.. Judge Bichmond gave his decision this morning in the case against the Cook Adeensing Cemmittee. He refused to grant it mandamus, holding that the decision of the Licensing Committee was final. A young man named Eobert Welby, employed at Luke and Sons' foundry, was seriously injured by a casting failing on him. It ia feared he received; concussion of the brain. : There is still no news of the missing man, Mr A. L. Levy. The police authorities in Sydney have been communicated with to ascertain if he is on the Hauroto, but no reply has been received. At the Supreme Court, F. W. Carroll and John O'Brien, indicted for larceny, were convicted, and remanded for sentence. Henry Field pleaded guilty to larceny, aad sentence was deferred.^ DUNEDIN, July 14. The University Council has decided to ask the agent-General to advertise for a mathematical teacher.
