STOPPAGE OF THE BARQUE ONYX.
Yesterday afternoon as the barque Onyx was about to proceed to sea two bailiffs, to the astonishment of the captain and managing owner, boarded the vessel, empowered to prevent her departure. The cause of this action, we are informed, was owing to the refusal of Captain Patterson to buy out the shares of one of the co-owners, resident in Dunedin, who fears his interests may not be sufficiently protected as tbe vessel is going on an eutside voyage. He has, therefore, placed an embargo on the vessel without consulting the managing owner. Until the matter is settled toe Onyx will be unable to proseed on her voyage.
