The Melbourne and Sydney Dramatic letters stand alon« among contributions of the kind to New Zealand papers for good taste and thorough knowledge of matters Thespian, and they form most light and and agreeable reading. Under the heading of THB DAY OF BEST, A considerable space is every weedevoted to the publication of carefullyselected matter for Sunday reading. This a recently introduced feature, but it has already met with a most encouraging reception. No other Canterbury paper makes any attempt to provide literature of this character. THE! The " Weekly is the ONLY JOURNAL in Canterbury whioh contains such illustrations. An English agricultural letter is an important feature of THE YEOMAN which contains also reliable veterinary articles, original agricultural notes, and notes on passing events from an agricultural standpoint, contributed by a practical farm writer of vast experience and undoubted ability. Several columns of TABLE TALK are printed every Thursday even—i? on page 16. They contain the very latest news on matters that concern farmers to be had up to the moment, of going to press, and also interesting items of country news obligingly contributed by subscribers. Table Talk is specially written for tbe " Weekly Press," and appears in no other journal. BPOBTING. The " Weekly Preßs " is the only weekly journal in which are to be found the sporting notes of "SENEX," Whose long acquaintance with the New Zealand Turf and moat intimate and thorough knowledge of the racehorse, make him facile princeps among spore ing writers. COUBBING. In Coursing again the " Weekly Press' enjoys the reputation of being UNBIVALLIp. the writings of "THE WIZARD" on this subject being admittedly the best of their kind. Every important kennel is visited and described by " The Wizard," the merits of every dog are carefully canvassed and estimated, reliable records of Home Coursing with elucidative notes are Sublished, and all local meetings are escribed with brilliant accuracy and judgment. Beports of the late Coursing and Baring Meetings are forwarded to the "Weekly Press" by Pigeon Express, and are published by no other Bporting Jouniai. FOOTBALL. BOATING. The Proprietors of the " Weekly Press " have secured tbe services of "NEPTUNE" to write special boating articles. THE "WEEKLY~~PRESS" Contains Novels and Tales specially selected by a well-known writer, whose experience and i success in Canterbury in catering for the | literary taste of the general public are wellknown. , in this enterprising journa will also be found THE LADIES' MAGAZINE. A carefully edited part of the paper, in which appears original writings on matters of feminine interest, by " Viola " and other writers} also, carefully selected articles from the best sources, dealing with every phase of social and domestic life. In the Ladies' Magazine are published poems sel acted bo as to preserve in handy form the best pieces, not tonly of known authors, but of those who are as yet un„uowntofame. THE DRAMATIC PAGE Is edited by " Orpheus," whose Notes are well known as a sure supply of pleasant and amusing information on Theatrical matters. THE NOVELIST. Under this head appear, published for the first time in New Zealand, high-class novels by the best .English Authors. THE NATURALIST Is a medium for conveying information about the most interesting part of man's dominion. Great care is exercised in the selection of this column, bo that it shall contain always interesting and reliable pictures cf life.
