Blakiston, E«qs._ AI— XQKD LARCZHT FRO- A DW«— TMG — Bobert Sent was charged with stealing the sum of 3s 6d from the houte of Mary Jane Butler on July 12th. The accused pleaded not guilty. The evidence of the prosecutrix, Mary Jane Butler, alias McMahon, was to the effect that Kent stayed at her house on Sunday night, and on Monday morning he went into her bedroom, as be said, to look for his pipe, and she afterwards missed 3s 6d from a pocket of her dress. A witness gave evidenc »in Kent's favor. The Bench did not consider the evidence strong enough to substantiate, t h f charge, and dismissed the case. [Before B. Beetham, Esq., B.M/J Civu. Casks —Marks v 2£ll, dab- is§> 17s 2d. Wbea called there was no appearance of either plaintiff or defendant, and the case was struck out. Immediately afterwards both parties came up and asked for a reinstatement, which however hia Worship declined to grant—Official Atsignee in the bankrupt e-tate of T. Moore v Walker, claim £32 6* 6d, for. gxocerics, &c. \. Mr Stringer for plaintiff, >Mr Bus-ell for defendant. Mr Beetham save judgment for defendant, with costs, on the ground that the goods bad been ■uppUeo to defendant's wile on account of her separate estate. Evidence was led to ■how that the acoounthad been discharged by a centra account for interest oa money lent by Mrs Walker on mortgage to Moose, but tnis matter ci'l not come into the judgment.
