DIGGERS INTERVIEWED.
[P——!S A6BOCrATrON TBXFQBAK-] ADELAIDE, July 6. A reporter at Pert Darwin, who interviewed the visitors from the goldfields, elicited the following statement:—The present position of the goldfield is about 400 miles from Derby and 300 from Cambridge Gulf, but the former being the best market, the longer trio is preferred. The road affords fair travelling. The place at whioh Headley, Moore and Co. have been working, where they obtained the gold, was Brickmau's Creek, about ten miles from the junction of the Elvira Biver. Gold has been got in small patches, but as yet there are no signs of a permanent field wb- rd they hava been working. There is no water -ithin three miles. They also state that although possibly a good reefing district might be opened np in the futtra, there is no warrant for a big rush of diggers to Kimberley, aid none should come unless well equipped with horses and rations. The statements regarding the goldfields are ot the most conflicting character. It is rumoured that in order to prevent an increased rush to Kimberley the miners are simply sending sufficient gold to procure provisions, and most of the parties have gold to a large extent in camp. The actual gold brought into town np to the present time amounts to SOOoz. _s fifty men are supposed te have been four months prospecting' the quantity stated would not produce a very rich average.
