AMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.

The ordinary meeting was held at "Waiau on Tuesday. Present—Messrs J. Macfarlane (Chairman), Corbett, Jones and Rutherford. The resignation of Mr T. Chapman was received, and a new eleotion ordered. A letter from the Colonial Secretary wm read, notifying the appointment of the Chairman as a Conservator for State Forests. A letter was read from the Grey County Council, drawing attention to the road on the east side of the, range, which was referred to the Amnri Som Board. The Colonial Treasurer advised payment of £6 18e 3d, and it was decided to make further inquiries regardincthe auctioneer's fees paid for sales within the county, a sum of £10 being advistd, when the Council understood that each of the auctioneers had paid fees of £10 each. It was decided further inquiries be made by the Chairman. A letter was read from Messrs Joynt end Adams relative to the appeal against the, Charitable Aid and Hcspital contribution. The decision of the Commissioners wax also read. It was stated JE6II was due by the Council, it was decided that the Government be aeked to deduct .£2ll (last year's contribution) from the grant of J8250 due, and the balance bo paid when funds admit. The annual balance-sheet, showing , receipts at £31015s 7d, and a balance in hand of -868 9s Bd, was adopted. Accounts, £2512s 6d, were passed, and the Council adjourned.
