TIMARU ITEMS.

The annual Entire Horse Parade, under the auspices of the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association, waa held on the old Show Grounds yesterday. There were only fourteen entries in aIL The draught class comprised General Manager, Strathmore, Lucks-all, Superior, Young Salisbury, and Young Wellington. The thoroughbreds Ware Betrayer, Young Leotard, Macilleabean, Hotspur, Jaagler, Quamby, and Discretion. Coaching stallion— Bobby Burns. The majority of the horses were of high class, but some of them have been rather long in the district, and new strains are required. Tbe Sheep Inspector's return for South Canterbury gives 1,784,000, being an increase of 74,000 since May, 1884.
