Kimbell,J.P.,Esqs.] Dbunebnkxbs.—Bobert Dunn, for being drunk while in charge of a hone and oait, and for indecent exposure, was for the first named offence fined £1, or in default of payment to be imprisoned for fortyeight hours, and for the other seven days' imprisonment with hard labor. Elisa Wilßon, a woman who has a large number of convictions against her, pleaded not guilty, and her request for a remand till Saturday was granted, to enable her to produce a witness. FoßGMßY.—Margaret Mary Belinda Todd, alias Ellen Young, alias Margaret CroicJcehank, who is now wader sentence for obtaining board, Ac, on false pretences, was brought up on remand charged with uttering » forged cheque for 4111. On the application of the police, who stated that the prosecutor was in Auckland, a further remand was made till October Ist. Civil, Cask. —Christchurch Drainage Board v Hopkins. In this case, in which on the previous day judgment had been given in favor of the plaintiff Board, the defendant appeared and asked for a rehearing. His Worship said he would hear the application if made in the usual form. Lα Carter v Beck, a case which had been submitted to his Worship as arbitrator, judgment was now entered up for the defendant with £1 costs. In Lyons v Back, claim 12s 6d, judgment -was for plaintiff with coete Badger v Palmer and same v Northcrof t were adjourned tOl October 21st.
