NOETH CANTEBBUEY STEEPLE CHASE CLUB.

A meeting of the members of this Club' was held at tbe Crown Hotel, Amberley, on the Bth inst, a fair number of? i membera being present. Mr F. Courage wafr. J voted to the chair, and like a true sports* man again came forward and offered hie fields on the fceadown estate to the Club for their next meeting. . - The Club owe all their success to Mr Courage, as he not only gives his land to be run over, but spares no trouble in trim* - ming the fences, levelling the ground, and making the course as it is acknowledged to be b> one and all who visit it —the best steeplechase course in New Zealand. A very liberal programme haa been drawn' up. Should the weather only favor the Club lovera of the chase ought to have a very enjoyable day. The list of officers is the same as last year, with only two exceptions, viz., Mr G.Coleman was elected Clerk of the Course and Mr M. E. O'Conneli Secretary. The meeting will be held on Friday, 28th August. Messrs fiobbs and Goodwin's offer of the use of their totalisator was accepted. The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr E. vi. Griffith asking him if he would officiate as Handioapper. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting.
