This match was continued on Saturday. The L.P.C., with 38 runs to the good and cue wicket to fall, coaturaed their first innings, which closed for 119, the last man only adding 1 ran. The TJ.C.C.C. then vent in for their second innings, and at fiie call of time had scored 226 for the loss of only fire wickets, thanks chieiy to Heaere Million and Longden, who went in first and made 119 before Millton played (mc on to his wicket. The retiring batsman played a very good innings of 47 without a chance, and seemed to have fback his old form again. W. Cotterill followed and contributed 26 in good style, he gave one chance Wore he; had scored. A. Longden was {be next to retire with 92 to his credit, being well caught by H. CotterilL L*ngden after the first few overs played well,, bat should have been caught by the bowler once before he had made 10. B. D.Harman played carefully for 21 (not on*), and 8. % Cctterill contributed 25 by son* bard hittmg. The L.P.C. bowling, with the exception of Bunlop, was not up to tie mark. A match between the Papanni and Stanmore dabs was played at Papanui on Saturday. The scores were—Papanui, 94 ,• Stasmore, 54$ Papanui thus winning by 40 rune. Joseph.
