The following ia the Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday, the 3Ut instant :— The week just ending has been one of extreme dullness, few transactions of consequence having resulted. Wheat ot any kind is hard to place, although prices are very little affected. In .oata. few sales have. been, made worthy of iiotioe. are fe-.y. and buyers indifferent j prices, however, are fairly well maintained. Other cereals and pulse continue in a dormant condition, and require considerable tact to induce buyers to invest in them. The reaction in potatoes is keenly felt by those who have held in anticipation of higher ratee, and who are now only too eager to quit stocks at current prices. Dairy produce meets with very little attention, even at the low prices now ruling, but should merit some little more favor for the Home market, per cool chambers, seeing that it should arrive at the time of year when a scarcity Iβ almost inevitable.

Quotations to date are as follows :— Wheat—3a to 3a 3d for prime nulling | seconds, 2s 6d; chickwheat, Iβ 3d to Is 9d, f.o.b. Oats—Stout milling. 8s; short feed, 2s lOdj Jong eate, 2a Bd, f.o.b. • Barley—First-class malting, 4s { second quality. 3a 6d to Sβ 9d j feed, 2s to 3a 3d, Christchurch. Beans and Peas—The former 3a 3d to Sβ 4d, and the latter 3a 3d to 3s 6d f.o.b. Potatoes— £2 10s to £1 15s at country etationa within twelve miles. « Butter—€d to 7d, kegs extra, f.o.b. Cheese—Nominally id per lb f.o.b. Lines ex store are quoted a shade higher, but the above are the prices paid to farmers.
