IfBOX OTTE OOBRBBPONDBNT.I WELLINGTON, June 23.
The greater part of the time of the House to-day was taken tip in discussing the thrilling subject of the Kumars sludge channel. To-night a debate took place in regard to the honorarium, and it is needless to say the whole-souled patriots who have been here a little over a fortnight without, of course, achieving a single resalt in the way of practical legislation, roted themselves the full 210 guineas, at which it has been accustomed to appraise the value of their services per session. It is hoped that the prorogation will take place to-morrow and the dissolution the day after. _ . The rumor is again revived that Br Conolly will be made a Judge shortly in the room of Sir James Prendergast, who is now in England, and, it is stated, about to retire altogether from the service. The rumor, however, entirely lacks official confirmation. The following are the pairs on the honorarium question:—For the reduction Messrs Tole, Trimble, Richardson, Sutter, Wynn Williams, Mason, Hurst, Conolly, Wakefield. Against—Messrs Tomoana, Taiaroa, Ivess, McMillan, Duncan, M. W. Green, Morice, J. C. Brown, Pilliet. The following were non-voters : — Messrs Allwright, Barron, J. Buchanan, Dargaville, Fergus, C. J. Johnston, McDonald, Mcllwraith, Shrimski, Smith. Sutton, Tβ Wheoro, Whitaker, J. 8., Whyte. Messrs Whyte and Tβ Wheoro, it i should be explained, have been absent!
during the whole session.
