LONDON, June 20.
The North England team, which is now playing against the Australians at Manchester, is composed of Messrs Docker, Hornby, Barlow, Barnes, Bates, Briggs, Croesland, Peate, Sherwin, Shrewsbury, andUlyett. In the first innings of the Home team, at ths close of to-day's play, the score showed —Hornby, caught, 94; Barnes, bowled, 67. Received Jute SSrd. 0 35 &.m. LONDON, June 21. The {cricket match at Manchester, Australians v North of England, was resumed and concluded to-day, resulting in the defeat of the visitors. The home team, with six wickets down for 187 r»ns, continued their first innings, and put together a total of 220; J. Briggs caught 22, being the principal scorer. The Australians being 129 behind their opponents in the first innings, then went in for the second time, but their wickets again fell rapidly, and the whole were put out for a total of 107. the home team thus winning by an innings and 21 runs. The highest scorers were—M'Donnell, b, 23, and Bltckham, c, 32. Peate bowled splendidly for the home team, taking five wickets for 20 runs.
