THE POULTRY SHOW.
The show this year of the Christehureh Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society, which takes place in the Oddfellows' Hall, on July 2nd and 3rd, promises from the number of entries already received to be the most successful yet held. On reference to the detailed list given below it will be seen that the total number in all classes totals up 663. The largest number hitherto reached wa3 in 1880, when the entries were 501. Last year they were 430. It will be noticed that in addition to the particular classes to which the Society has hitheito devoted its attention, this year a oat show has been got up, and the idea, judging from the number of animals entered, seems to have been taken up very well. Up to Saturday evening no less than fifty-seven cats of all kinds were entered, and as the entries do not close until tomorrow this number may be expected to be considerably added to. The numbers in the poultry classes may also be increased, as all entries bearing Saturday's postmark will be received. The details of the entries in the various classes are as under:— POULTRY.
