Mondat, Mat 14. [Before C. Wbitefoord, Esq., 8.M., and Montague H. Smith, fceq.l Larceny.— £. Brodie, with a number of aliases, was charged with breaking into the dwelling of E. Smith, on the Flazton road, on the 6th, and stealing shoes value 155., a ring £2, a shaving brush, looking glass, and other articles. Complainant stated he left his house door fastened with a chain and padlock, which had been broken, and the articles taken. A youth gave evidence of finding the ring near the Salvation Army barracks. Constable Morgan said he challenged accused with the robbery on the 7th, and searched him near the barracks where the ring was fonnd. He then searched accused's tent, and the latter bolted into some scrub. Shortly after he saw him leave the scrub and gave him chase, when accused dropped a bag containing some of the articles identified, and was again lost in the scrub. Accused admitted hie guilt to the Court, and was sentenced to cix months' imprisonment. Assault. —Hone Faratese was charged with behaving so as to provoke a breach of the peace to J. Horrell, by removing a bridge. Mr Nalder for complainant. Accused asked for a translation of hie summons, and an adjournment was granted for a week.
