The usual monthly meeting of Jthis ' Board woe held on the 14th inst. Present —Mesaw J. Jackson (Chairman); H. Morgan, R. Patton, G. Coward, and W. McMillan. The Overseer's report < was read, and it was resolved that he '(the Overseer) get all the minor works mentioned therein done by day labor.' A letter was received from the Ashburton County Council, advising the Boardftb-t J their Engineer was instructed to examine the roads -in and near Methven damaged by storm water during the late floods, and to report to the. CouncU on; tiie matter. ' Resolved — That as the , En-' has not reported as promised, a Committee, consisting "To! the Chairman, Messrs Patton and McMillan, be appointed to examine the old creek near old Methven, and to have the some cleared out if necessary, and to examine the roads in »r near '. Methven damaged by storm water daring the late floods, to 'make an {estimate of the damage done, and to apply to the Ashburton County Counted for payment of the amount. ■ M. J. Brown, Esq., waited upon the' Board, and submitted plans for the diversion of roads on sections He. 15SS2 and._4_; tbe consideration of tiie some was adjourned until next Board meeting to enable Mr Brown to furnish further plans. Mr A Orr appUed to have Barker's road formed and shingled from present formation to rood leading to Mount Hutt Resolved that tenders be caUed for tiie work, to be sent in by next monthly meeting. A letter was read from Mr W. Gerard, Snowdon, declining the terms offered by the Board for repairing Bedcliffa track. From Messrs Harper and Co., stating that the streete iri Me' Kertow and Mann's township, Methven, were not dedicated to tiie Crown. I«tter from the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, forwarding report of receipts and expenditure for the hut year. A petition was received from D. Cameron, Esq., Climes, ■and othew, asking the Board to form the bo-udory track from Mr L Uyetfs property to "Lyndhurst road. Resolved to inform the petitioners that as soon as provision is made for carrying the storm water off that portion of the district, the prayer of their petition wfll be acceded to. Messrs Gunn ' ond Morr appUed to have a road opened through Section No. 2-020 from their property to the West Coast road. Resolved, that the Chairman ascertain what arrangements he can make with the proprietor for purchasing the necessary land.
