The above Board met on Thursday lost at 3 p.m. Present—Messrs E. J.T.Ford (Chairman), G. Dryden, J. Kerr, H. ;B. Kirk, J. Marsden, and R. J. Offwood. The Clerk was instructed to write to the Drainage Board re shingle below Colombo bridge; also, aa to state of Cuff's road, causedlby the drainage works. Re closed road, it was resolved that Mr Reading be offered the land in question. The receipts were reported as 4408 63 4d. Re damage dene by flood at Colombo bridge, the Clerk to write to HalsweU and Spreydon Boards.: Fhs foUowing correspondence. was read•! uad dealt with:—Mr Jas. GUbert, asking tor earth from Bridle Path and Sumner wad. AppUcation deferred. Mr J. tM. -lenney, re state of Sumner HUI road; To >c attended to. Drainage Board, declinng to put sump at William and Eliza--eth streets. ~ Received. Sumner Town Board, asking for sanction of Board to expend money on Heberden rood. Declined for want of funds. Messrs C. Cuff, Cowlishaw, and others, fcrwarding petition to Board to ask the Church Property Trustees to give land to widen Slaughterhouse road, and to change the name. It wos resolved to write, to tbe Church Property Trustees oh the matter, ahd to change the name to Woodham road. Selwyn County Council, enclosing cheque for share of dog fees. Mr J. Anderson, re canal reserve. Deferred to next 'Board day, the Clerk to consult the solicitor. Mr W. Wilson re fence encroaching on Charles street, stating that same Would be removed at once. As a week hod elapsed since the letter was written and the fence was stiU there, it was resolved to give notice that if not removed within seven days, the Board would do it and charge the cost to Mr Wilson. Chief Surveyor, stating that he could not send one of his staff to survey Bridle-path and Sumner road, but that he would assist the Board as much as he could. It was resolved to ask him to assist in drawing up a specification to invito offers to perform the work. Linwood Town Board re repairing Ferry rood. Agreed to. Mr E. Palmer re poundkeeper. The letter to be referred to the poundkeeper for a written reply.
