SYDNEY, December 2

The cricket match between the New South Wales Eleven and the English team was resumed to-day. The weather was fine, and there was a very large attendance of spectators. The Englishmen continued their first innings, the not outs of the previous day (Barlow and Mr Leslie) resuming their places,at the wickets. Both players made a splendid stand, and runs were rapidly scored. , Leslie was finally caught when he had put together 144, and Barlow followed with 80 (bowled). Mr C. T. Studd was bowled for 23, and Bates was caught and 30. There are now five wickets the score stands at 283, as against 152 scored by the local men in their first innings. At the close of the day's play, the English Eleven had scored 441 for the lose of eight wickets. The following are the remainder of the scores:— Mr W. W. Bead, c and b ... 46 Mr Steel, b 62 MrTjlecote,b 26 Mr Vernon, not out 12 . Barnes, not out ... ... 6 Extras ... 16 Total for eight wickets ... 441
