TRADES' ROWING CLUB. The seventh and final heat for tbe committee's prize for double sculls was pulled off on the mile course, from Pratfs to the Willows, and resulted in one of the closest races pulled on the river for some time. The following is the result:— South bank—Cygnet, J. Myers stroke, A. Bunge bow, A. Butterfield cox 1 North bank—Eclipse, £. Wells stroke, J. Paul bow, A. Wells cox. 2
Bitb boAts jumped away together at the start, Wells showing a lead of about a quarter of a length during the first hundred yardß; then Myers came with a rush, passed him and led by a length at Gowlishaw's. But Wells here made a grand spurt, and succeeded in reducing Myers' lead to a bare half length, when he had the misfortune to lose one of his ] sculls, and Myers, taking advantage of this, again drew away and increased his lead to a length. Wells made a grand spurt at tbe finish, but did not succeed in catching Myers, who ultimately won a hard-nulled race by a half-length.
