The prisoner was charged with indecent exposure, for which offence he was fined 10s, or, in default, forty-eight hours' imprisonment with hard labor. Wrra De3EETiok.—That. Hussey, arrested £»v Ashburton, was charged as above. He denied the charge. The police said Mrs Hussey was unable, from illness, to appear. The prisoner was remanded till Monday next. DISOBBTUrS AS OBDHB OF COTTBT.—H. W. Griffiths was brought up on warrant charged with having failed to comply with an order to contribute to the support of his two children at Burnham, at the rate of 7s per week. The order had been made on Ootober 27th last, and prisoner had paid nothing whatever since then. He now pleaded poverty, sajing he had earned very little einoe October, and oE that little he had been defrauded. He was ordered to pay up forthwith, or be imprisoned for one month with hard labor. AIIJEGBD ATTEMPTED SUIOIDB.—A yOUHg woman who had been taken out of the Avon on Sunday night last was brought up. Serge&Bt Mason said, from inquiries made by the police, be was convinoed that this was a bogus case. The girl, whilst walking along Oxford terrace, had, in consequence of some disagreement with her mother, with whom she was walking, suddenly rushed into the water with, as it appeared, the intention of f tightening her parent. The Magistrate recommended accused to, in future, curb her temper, and especially not to jump into the water again, or, possibly, she might be drowned. She was then discharged. Crvn Oabbb.—Pringle v Moore, claim £13 5s 2d for wages as gardener. Mr Thompson for plaintiff; Mr Button for defendant. Judgment for plaintiff for £5 19s 6d, plaintiff to pay costs. Judgments went for plaintiffs by default in—Smith v McZenzie, 17s 6d ; Doling v Delaney, £1 Is 6d; Banks v Smith, £8 12s Id ; Vincent and Co. v Allen, 10s ; and Neighbours v Bowland, £23 18s 2d. Angell v Johnson was adjourned till February 3rd.
