The Oreti ia not to leave for Wellington, Northern ports, and Auckland, until Wednesday next. The s.s. Tui, from Eaikonra, arrived yesterday, and left on the return trip in the evening. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Hawera leaves here to-night for Wellington and the North." The s.B. Star of the Sooth leaves for Westport on Monday next. The Ocean Bird, Onward, Spec, Spray, Elizabeth Curio, Julius Vogel, and Lucy James, arrived yesterday, all timber laden. The brig Emperor, Captain Cleary, arrived on Thursday night from Newcastle, after a passage of twenty days. She was three days in Blind Bay for shelter. The steamer Westport arrived yesterday from "Wellington. X good deal of curiosity was manifested in connection with her arrival, the vessel feeing , newly built and bat recently arrived from the eld country. A full description of her was pub- . lishei in the Pbess a few days since, to which there is little or notching to add. The steamer isaltogether a cargo carrying vessel, viewed in com- i psrison with the boats of the Union Company, for j instance. She is built to carry a large cargo on a light draught, and her speed being of a high class, she wiU undoubtedly suit the coasting trade. Her passenger accommodation is supplied on a scale j which may be said to be liberal for a vessel of her design, she will leave to-morrow forTimaruand Dunedin, &s advertised by her agents, Messrs P. and Co*
