On Saturday last Messrs H. Matsoh and Co. held a> very important sale of city and suburban properties. The attendance was numeTons, and although Talnable sites were offered in the city," the biddings were somewhat languid,; bst latterly more spirit was shown and biddings bri=k A section of land on the Whateley road, contaiting 8 perches, and having a frontage on tfce Whateley read and Salisbury street, sold Tor £7 5s per foot for 22ft frontage on the Whateley rosd. One-eighth ef an acre of laad, having 74 links frontage on the Whateley ro*<3, with cottage, sold for £420; asd another section adjoining, with same area and frontage, sold far £3;©. Several town properties and a section in Park lane, off Papanni read, with a mill plant, -steam engine, bailers, &c , were passed in, bnt sales will most likely be effected privately next week. A section in Leitbfield, containing 19 acres, was passed in at a bid of £25 ncr acre. Eigkt?en sections land, situate on Duncan's Nnrsery road and Matheson's road, were all sold, and realised the following prices : —No. 1, containing 13 perches, £30 ; Nos. 2 end 3, each containing 10 perches, £25 each; No- 4, containing 9 perches, £21 ; No. 5, containing 19 perches, £40 ; No. 6, containing 18 perches, £ll; No. 7, containing 16 perches, £33 : No 8, containing 16 perches, £32; Nos. 9,10, and 11, each containing 16 perchea £30 each; No. 12, containing 16 perches, JB4I ; No. 13, containing 16 perches, £Ui ; No. 14, containing 17 perches, .£33; Noa. 15 and 16. containing 9 perches each, .£2O eich. Nos. 17 and 18. containing 18 perches each, £37 each; averagingat the rate of £374 per aera. Also, qr acre section of land, together with cottage thereon, situate ra St. Andrew's street, Sydenham, sold for £155. Total sale. £1449.
