THE RECAMIA.
A ketch called by the above name came into port yesterday from Hobart, Tasmania, via Wellington ami the Sounds. She ■was lately purchased at Hobart by Messrs Cook Bros., of this -port. The followicg'partictilars respecting her were supplies by Captain Grubb:—The Becamia is a centre board ketch of 69 tons register. She is hard wood bottom, along with Kauri and! Haon pine topsides. In Hobart ehe has the reputation of being the finest baree on the river. Messrs Cook intend placing her in the coasting trade and the bar harbors, for ■which she is admirably adapted, carrying 125 tons on a draft of 7ft, making her suitable for nearly evervNew Zealand port. Her dimensions are :— 72ft oa the keel, 20ft Bin beam, and 6ft Bin depth of bold ; her centre board is 12ft by 12£t. She was built in Southport by Mr J. Graves, from whom she was pnrchasea, and ail the hard wood in her was iaien out of one gum tree. On the passage from Hobart she proved herself to be an excellent sea boat.
