[PHB PBBSe ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, October 26. The Government hare sent a surveyor to lay oat a township at the Deep Water terminus of the Kawakawa Railway. A Wade storekeeper, named Eichard March, has been committed to the asylum. The unfortunate man had taken great interest in the Kelly proeooutiona, and had assisted materially in bringing the cases forward whioh are in oourse of investigation at the Polioe Court, and whioh it would appear have disordered hie mind. During the voyage of the Ringarooma from Napier to Auckland, thirty boxes of cigars, part of the samples of a commercial traveller named Frederick Trisohler, was stolen. The police searched the vessel up to her leaving to-night for Bussell, and discovered two boxes of these cigars planted in the forecastle, which seems to indicate that some of the sailors were concerned in the affair. The value of the goods stolen was £15. OHINEMUTIT, October 26. The Natives complain that not more than half of them have been vaccinated. A dootor has been up once from Tauranga, and promised to return in a week. The Natives accordingly collected from the surrounding country, but the dootor did not put in an appearance, except in odd instances. The Natives along this coast appear to know little of Te Whiti. The tourist season has now fairly set in. WA.NGANTTI, October 26. William Green, charged with complicity in the Sfcormbird robbery, was acquitted. The other man, Henry Williams, was convicted, and will be brought up for sentence to-morrow. About 40 Volunteers will leave here for the front on Saturday. WELLINGTON, October 26. At the meeting of the Artillery last night, the reply received from the Defence Minister relative to Colonel Reader's remarks to the Battery was discussed. The Lieutenant commanding and a Sergeant of the Battery, who was present at the interview, stated that they were cot under a misapprehension as to the meaning of Colonel Header, It was decided to reply to the letter from the Defence Minister, and express the feeling of the Battery on the subject. The steamer Graf ton injured herself when near Cape Campbell, and had to put back here. WEBTPOET, Ootober 26. Owing to a dispute between the manager of the Westport Colliery Company and the men, regarding the length of notice required to leave, the mon are on strike. Coal has been struck in the corner drive. DUNEDIN, Ootober 26. At the Magistrate's Court to day, Mr Mouatt characterised Mr Simpson's decision in a case as absurd and ridioulous. When oalled on to retr&ot, he said that he always obeyed the Court, but had no respect for his Worship's judgment. On retraction being again demanded the remark was withdrawn.
A boy three years of age, a son of Mr Martin, fell into the Taieri river on Tuesday and was drowned.
