Nominations for the Handicap Hurdle Bacee, and the Ohoka and Eyreton Cap, must be made to the boa. secretary in sealed cover, addressed to him at the Junction Hotel, Ohoka, before 8 p.m. on Monday, December 12th, accompanied with the description and age of the horses nominated, and a list of their performances, together with the necessary amount in cosh. 2. Weights will be declared in the morning papers as early as practicable during the same week. 3. Acceptances and general entries mnstbe made as above, before 8 p.m. on Monday, December 19th, accompanied with the necessary cash and the colors of the riders. 4. Three hones must start for each event, or the stakes will be withheld. 5. District Bace means that horse and owner or any person entering them must be permanent residents between the rivers Ashley and Waimakariri for at least three months prior to the race* 6. No horse that has won an advertised race amounting to over £50 will be allowed to run in any of the events. 7. The rules of the Canterbury Jockey Club will be strictly adhered to in all matters where a special rule has Dot been made. 8. All protests must be made to the secretary in writing within one hour after the race, accompanied by a deposit of £1, which will be forfeited if the protest is a frivolous one. The decision of the stewards to be final in all cases. 9. All owners and nominators of horses for the Ohoka and Eyreton races shall subscribe 1 sev to the race funds. 10. All persons intending to scratch a horse must give notice to the non. secretary or the clerk of the scales at least half an hour before the race in which such horse is entered to run. 11. Five per cent, will be deducted from all stakes for expenses. 12. Admission to the saddling paddock :— Non-eubecribers, 2s 6d.
