ELLESMERE.

The uiual monthly meeting of this Board wee heldon Wednesday last at Leeeton. Present —Messrs J. Bennie (chairman), J. B. Campbell, and K. Lockbead. Correspondence was received and read from Mr J. Cunningham, calling attention to the number of cattle, &c. t that were allowed to stray on the Brook* side roads. It was resolved to appoint a ranger for three months to pound all stray oattle, &o. From Mr Lovegrove, asking for permission to put a culvert aoross Beethem road to carry water into hie paddooki. Granted. From Mr H. J. Kail, asking Board to form to foil width a road from Marshall's bridge to Lambie's. Granted. A petition was read from B. McConkey and others, asking Board to continue the footpath from library to police station. Consideration deferred. Mr P. Campbell applied for formation on Bakaia road. Granted. Mr J. 'McDonnell applied to get drain by his property cleaned. Granted. Messrs Biohards and Gibbs saw the Board in reference to dispute about work done. Mr Campbell and the overseer wore instructed to visit the work. Mr Cannon complained that Mr Ball was cutting down a terrace on the Little Bakaia River, which allowed stook to trespass on his property. Mr Forsyth applied for culvert across Bakaia and Taumulu roads. Granted. An application was made by a number of Southbri||ge residents to have the road Opened up through the land known as Carr'a and the gorge fence removed, at present standing on the road. Overseer instructed to look into the matter. The next meeting of the Board was fixedjf or Tuesday, the 4th January, 1881. The overieer'a report was read, and the paysheet, amounting to £617 Iβ Is, examined and passed for payment.
