[Br TelbsbaphJ [880-T OTTB OWN COBBBBPONDBHT. I WELLING lON, August 6. On the House resuming this evening there was a tolerably full attendance of members, and the galleries well filled, but by no means crowded. After some little preliminary business Major Atkinson moved that the House go into Committee of Supply. On thia Mr Oliver rose at 7.35, and asked permission to deliver the Public Works Statement. On rising he was reoeived with considerable applause, whioh quiokly subsided into the closest attention. Mr Oliver's delivery ia not favorable to distinct hearing in the galleries, and often it was impossible to catch more than one word in three. There was occasional applause, for instance when it was annonnoed that reductions to the extent of £44,000 yearly had been made in the working expenses. He concluded amid cheering at 8.15, having spoken forty minutes.
