The S-~ Jane Douglas arrived at midnight on T__rsd_y from Kaikoura and Wa-ingtoa. She aailed o_ her return trip yesterday evening. The brig Wild Wave, Captain Hurley, left Sydney for here on April 14th, with the following cargo :— 215 pieces t__ber, 63 paes, 600 spokes. The barque A-atrali-a Sovereign. Captain Berry, sailed from Newcastle for hero ©n the Bth inst. The ship Boyua cleared yesterday tor London with a cargo ol grain. Messrs F. Chm—i-gi—m and Co. expect the barque (Ment and brig Emily from Newcastle, and the I_ay£_a_iafromHobart Town. The barque-tine Alma will be loaded for _Celboame by —Cessra V. Cunningham and Co, and the Lett erfoarie will load here —a—at O-mara for South Australia in behalf of the same -_.
The s.e. St. Kills, Captain Flowerday, arrived at midnight on Thursday from Wanganui. She left there oa Monday night, experienced strong S.E. winds —_d —is— sea, and went into Ohau Bay for ■halter saxly Wednesday monmig. The weather r_>derat«d same day, and she left that night, since which she met with light winds. She sailed yesterdayfor X_M_- —ad Port Chalmers. The a—. Omeo, ia command of Captain C—t—er, acd now a chartered boat in tha Union Steamship iizs. arrived yesterday morning from Wellington a_d Sydney. The interooloni-l trade between Australia and this colony i 3 not new to her, having 1 made aa enviable record for fast passages between Victoria and Otago years ago during the gold-elds erctteaent. She traded for some yeara between the two colonies, sad has always enjoyed the reputation cf being a smart vessel. She looked uncommonly well as she came -p the harbor yesterday. Her _Ue is 656 tons reg—iter, and sihe is barqne-riggel; spreads a lot of canvas, and is reputed to be an excellent sailer. On tiie present trip she made the ra_ across from Sydney to We_i__ton in sir days, arriving at the latter port on the 23rd inst. She left the following day for here at 1.30 p.m., and experienced light S.W. winds down. The Omeo brought 130 Chinese acrosafrom Sydney, afterwards tr__s_ipped to the Eotoroa. They arrived here on Thtirsdav by the last-named atea—ter and proceeded by her to their destination. Port Chalmers, where it is their intention to try their luck on the W-it-huna Gold-elds. Tha Omeo will leave for Xelbo-r-e, via BluS, at 1 pjn. to-day.
