From the chairman Ashburton County Council, in reply to the Board's letter of 2nd July, stating that the Council had decided to place £50 at the disposal of the Board for fencing and planting reserve 2064. The chairman was requested to reply, thanking the Council for their liberality, but as the Board had heard that Mr Beewiok had applied for 50 acres close to the reserve, they are of opinion their block of ground being only 15 acres ii too small for recreation purposes, and would suggest that the £50 be handed over for fencing and planting the larger recreation ground, if it ehould be granted. From the chairman of this Board, informing members of hie inability to attend the special meeting, held on the 21et ultimo. After passing the accounts the Board adjourned.
