The Standing Committee of the Synod and also the Church Property Trustees had consented to jnalce si grant of £ 100 towards the cost of the site. 1 Several speakers expressed their opinion that the church ought to be placed near the centre of the most populous part of the die' trict,-.rather than at the actnal centre, es shown on the map. It was moved by Mr Bestell, seconded by Mr Oliver Peacock, and carried unanimously—" That steps be taken to secare the site belonging to Mr Aynsley upon the terms liberally offered by that gentleman.' . He though the question of amalgamating with Prebbletoa should have the consideration of the meeting. A long discussion eneuecl npon this matter. The majority were of opinion that it would be to the advantage of both districts if they were amalgamated. We learn that there is little likelihood of Lincoln and Prebbleton working together this year, at all events. The following resolution was agreed to:—"That the annual sports be held at Lincoln on New Year's Day." The following gentlemen were appointed a general committee:—Messrs W. Oeddes, F. Boss, G. Thbatbb Boyal.—"Orimaldi," or the life of an actor, and the " Area Belle," were produced last evening at the Theatre Royal, for the benefit of Mr J. Bryan's benefit, to a fair honse. As Grimaldi, an old French actor, Mr Dampier showed hie versatility from hie previous representations, his broken English while retaining the idioms of his native language being excellent. The interest of the piece centres in Grimaldi, and Violet (Mrs Walter Hill) whom he has rescued when a waif, and the old man's varied phases of interest while watching his idol develop under his tuition, from a poor neglected girl -into a blooming and eagerly sought after prima donna, with his attendant trials and fears, were magnificently pourtrayed by Mr Dampier. Aβ Violet Mrs Walter Hill was natural, and as she increased in years and prosperity, looked charming. Of course there were villaioe who eocght her ruin, and nearly accomplished their purpose; but fortune favored the noble true lover, whom their macaina tionebadfor the time outwitted, and with the old actor and other friends he arrives in time to save her, and his faithful love through many trials receives its just reward. Messrs Douglas, Burford, and Hill were good in their parts, and the other characters were fairly filled. The entertainment concluded with the farce of the "Area Belle," in which the beneficiare filled the part, to an eminent degree, of Toseer, the life guardsman. Mr Bryan was loudly applauded on making hia appearance, and met with, quite a shower of large tizid bouquets : The .farce went fairly, and created a great deal of amusement. Tonight "Faust and Marguerite" will be repeated, aod as this will be Mr Dainpier's last appearance bat one here, we would advise all who desire to see sterling ability, to vieit the theatie this evening.

The sermon wae preached by the rev the incumbent from 2 Chron vi., 4let verse, "Now therefore arise O Lord God into Thy resting place, Thou and the ark of 'Thydsfareogth." Notice was given that there would be service every Sunday, and a celebration 6T the"" Holy Communion trace »- month.
