[A meeting of this Board was held at Aiaroaon Thursday, the 29th June, 1876, Messrs Boberts, Bell, Shadbolt, and Duxbury being present, when the minutes of last nieeting and , confirmed. spondence was received fronr the Secretary 'for Public Works, advising that the question of position of line of Onuku road through the native reserve was referred to the survey department, aßd also advising that the Government have no fand:,; which they can -appropriate to the pnrchase of a site for Boad Board office at the head of the Bay, 'and intimating that Boad Boards have power ltd purchase and hold land in their own right. Letter was received from G. Cossar ap.d others, urging tjj&jiecessity for the detection of a bridge at the upper crossing of the creek on Pawson's Valley road. It was resolved —" That, in the opinion of the Board, construction of the required bridge in Pawson's Valley should, be provided for out of special Igrantf. >saeftier' ' jirom Mr T. Dicken and others; "urging of- metaUing other improvements to the , "'French. ?arm road.'"
