Hi therefore considered it his duty to order a rule to issue to the coroner, tajling upon him to appear on the following day to show cause why he should tot be attached. The rule issued accordingly; In the Reideton manslaughter case, Andrew Black killed McEvoy, in a fight Oamaru, the Crown Prosecutor said thS there was not a doubt that it was only inconsequence of very great provocation from the deceased that prisoner eventually strucH the blow. A verdict of not guilty was retimed. At the Ciutha nomination to-day, the show of hands was—Mr Thomson, 8 ; Mr Moseley, 10 ; Sir J. Vogel, li Mr Moseley demanded a poll, which will fe taken on the 20th.
