MESSRS WASON AND JEBSON AT MALVERN.
Messrs Wason and Jebson met the electors of the Coleridge district at Willis's Hotel, Malvern, on Wednesday evening. Mr Matthias, on the motion of Mr Wason, took the chair, and briefly introduced Mr Wason, who addressed the meeting at some length. An elector wished to know why the runs could not be divided into blocks of (say) 500 acres? Mr Wason said it would be prejudicial to free selection, and besides, who would tender for such a block when it might be lost any day. Mr Taylor said if Provincial Councils have wasted small sums, would not a Centralist Government waste large sums ? Mr Wason thought that, being a larger number, they would not: Mr D. Jebson asked why the appointment of the Minister for Education was a mistake? Mr Wason thought the reports of the , school committees proved that it was. Messrs Jebson and Toaawill also addressed the meeting, and at its close a vote of thanks was passed to the chairman, and the meeting separated. . ' « ■ «ri i
