The fine barque. Queen of the Sea, Capt. Bobinson, left Hobart Town on the 17th, and had variable winds till within 200 miles of Stewart's Island, and then baa a very low barometer (29deg) for several days; but though the weather was threatening, had little or no wind. This weather lasted whilst coming through Foveaux Straits, which were cleared on Wednesday last; sighted Cape Saunders on Thursday, and arrived in harbour on Friday. We are obliged to Captain Bobinson for Hobart Sown files.

The barque Australian Sovereign, Captain Birch, left Newcastle on the evening of the nth August with light westerly winds, whloh lasted till Saturday, August 21st, when a strong S.E. gale was encountered, which lasted ten hours with aheavy sea; passed Gape Farewell on August 32nd, and Cape Campbell on August 23rd; From that date light variable winds and fine weather till her arrival.

The s.s. Fhoabe left Fort Chalmers at 4.80 pm. on Saturday, and arrived at Lyttelton at 9.30 a.m. yesterday, thus doing the passage in 17 hours. Light 8. W. winds and calms prevailed during the passage. The Phoebe brought the inward Suez mall ex Albion, and took the outward 'Frisco mail. She sailed North at 4.10 p.m. yesterday. We are obliged to Mr Barbeur for flies and reports. Whilst at Fort Chalmers the Phoebe was docked, and had a thorough overhaul. The s.s. Tararua, Captain Clark, left Sandridge at 5.30 p.m. on the 18th inst, arrived at Hokitika at ■11.16 a.m. on the 23rd. Had N.N.W. winds first part ot voyage, and S. W. winds with heavy seas and rain. As there was a heavy sea on, and being unable to land passengers and cargo, left for Nelson at 3.40 p.m. same day, arrired there at 1.30 p.m. on the 24th. and left Nelson at 2.30 am. on the 26th, and arrived in Wellington at 2.30 p.m.: left Wellington at 3 p.m. on the 27th, experienced fine weather, arriving In harbour at noon on Saturday. She Brought 7 tons of cargo for this port, and sailed for Melbourne via South at 4.30 p.m.
