The fine weather during the past few days ha enabled a little shipping: to be done, but busines generally is far from brisk, as orders come forwan -butslowly, while country deliveries have almos ceased. Wheat is nominally worth 3s Sd to 3s 6i for really choice milling; flour is quoted at £9 10s a the mills for 2001b sacks, and £9 lis 6d for 1001 baas. Oats are quiet, and likely to remain so, a orders are gradually finding their way South, wher prio-s are cheaper. Itessrs J. T. Ford and Co report on the live stocl market for the week ending Friday, the 11th inst as follows:—The yards at Addington were unusnalh full of fat stock, both sheep and cattle, about 300 fat sheep and 320 head of fat and Btore cattle. W report no alteration in values: mutton from 24d fa B|d per lb, beet 35s per 100 lbs. The demand fo store cattle is not nearly so brisk as it was, conse quent npon the shortness of feed, and in prices fo this class of stock we do not contemplate an; change before the spring. There is, however, ai unusual demand for store cross-bred wethers, am a limited supply in the market; merino wethers ar also inquired for, and prices for them as the seasoi advances will rule high. We quitted on Wednesday last at the yards over 1600 sheep and 220 bead o cattle—sheep for Messrs Griffiths. Brown and Allen Clarksoo, HcAlpine, Bovey, and W. White, a prices for cross-bred ewes 15s 6d each, merini wethers 13b 6d each, merino ewes 6s 9d each, anc medium quality at 12s <Jd o 13s each (or cross-bred; afid lis each merino wethers. We have also quitter cross-bred ewes for fattening purposes at lis each In cattle we disposed of 220 head fat for Messri Malley and Anderson at 35s per 100 lbs, and IShead of station stores on account of F- W. 1 prised a dralt of station stores, in forward condition. We yarded about 100 head for various owners, and sold several lines at from £7 to £9 ss. Very few prime cattle came forward, and bidding for stores was marked by extreme dulness. In sheep, our sales were tor Messrs H. F. Gray. Chas ' Hurst. T. Rowe, O'Callaghnn, Davis. Patterson, - Lane. Haydon, and others. We topped the market with 321 extra prime cross-bred ewes, from Mr H. *". Gray. Avonhead, at 17s to 17s 6d per head ; 111 cross-bred wethers, 15s 6d; 73 cross-bred ewe?. l 13s 6d; 94 merino wethers, at lis. for Mr Charles Hurst, Oakley ; 133 cross-bred wethers, at 15s 3d. - 135 do ewes, at 12s 6d. for Messrs Wright and , Miirrav; 01 cross-breds for Mr Patterson, at, i3s; , 131 cross-breds for Mr T. Eowc, at 13s G-i to 14s 6d ; , also, merino ewes and wetbws. and cross-bred 1 lambs, at full rates. The total entry by us was . 1800 sheep Although there was a full market, in i, fact the fullest market we have had for some time, all sheep of prime quality sold at satisfactory values. Mr Aikman reports on Mr K. Wilkin's weekly " wool, skin, and tallow sale as follows— Considerably » over 3000 skins and 37 ea*ka fat, were catalogued, and were all sold at prices about equal (taking quar lity into account) to those obtained last week. The attendance was good, and the competition fairly - brisk. Mr Aikman quotes prices as under—Best sheepskins, 3s to 6s Id each ; inferior and shortwoolled. is 3d to 2s 9d each ; hides, jrreeD, 3fd per '» lb ; hides, salted, 3jd to 4Jd per lb; rough fat, from 2Jd to 2fd per lb.
