KAIAPOI.
Tuesday, June 8. (Before C. Whitefoord, Esq., R.M.] Police Ordinance.—John Burns, arrested by Constable Haldane, and Joseph Kinley, arrested by Mounted Constable Beck, were charged with having been drunk and disorderly on Monday night. It appeared the parties while drunk had a quarrel. Burns was conveying Kinley to the lock-up to charge him with being drunk, when they had another quarrel near the Magistrate's Court, and were both placed in the lock-up. Burns was fined ss, fine paid ; Kinley was sentenced to 48 hours' imprisonment, in default of his paying a fine of 20s.
